5. PERILOUS TIMES.
Of these times Paul told Timothy. "This know also, that in the 'LAST DAYS' Perilous Times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection (for their own offspring), truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those who are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a FORM of godliness, but denying the POWER thereof." 2Tim. 3:1-3. We have neither time nor space to enlarge upon the above, but what a catalogue we have here of the "perilous conditions" of the times in which we live.

For the Scoffers that say it has always been this way... let us ask how many NUCLEAR BOMBS DOES IT TAKE TO DESTROY THE WORLD? IT HAS NOT ALWAYS BEEN THIS WAY!!!!!

more than you think. and it depends on the bomb.

1 megaton nukes have instantaneous near total destruction within a 1.7 mile radius and a 50% kill rate from radius 1.7 to 2.7 miles.

25 megaton nukes have instantaneous near total destruction within a 6.5 mile radius and a 50% kill rate from radius 6.5 to 10.7 miles.

both will have fallout related deaths but you asked about 1 hour. radiation sickness can take days to kill you.

given that the amount of land on earth is
1.5x10^8 km² x (0.621miles / 1km)² = 5.8x10^7 mi²
and the area of total destruction for a ...
1 MT bomb = 3.1416 x (1.7mi)² = 9.1 mi²
25 MT bomb = 3.1416 x (6.5mi)² = 133 mi²

looks like you would need about:
5.8x10^7mi² x (1 bomb / 9.1 mi²) = 6.4x10^6 ... 1-megaton bombs
or
5.8x10^7mi² x (1 bomb / 133 mi²) = 4.4x10^5 ... 25-megaton bombs

again.. for total instanteous destruction of all the land masses. A smaller number would doom the planet because of longer term effects.
certainly during the 1980's (when the world had it's largest stockpile of about 7x10^4 active bombs totalling 2.2x10^4 megatons of firepower), there were enough bombs to kill us all via long term effects.
