CITY OF BABYLON CHARACTERISTICS...

In Rev 17:5 Babylon is designated as MYSTERY...(MINE...WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?This undoubtedly in dicates that the name is to be under stood "figuratively. ...(MINE...LIKE ANCIENT BABYLON!)
(1) The characteristics ascribed to this Babylon apply to NEW YORK CITY rather than ROME or JERUSALEM or to any other city of this age:
(a) as ruling over the kings of the earth (Re 17:18);...(MINE...THE UNITED NATIONS BUILDING HEADQUARTERS IS IN NEW YORK CITY!
(b) as sitting on seven mountains (Re 17:9);...(MINE...NEW YORK CITY SITS ON SEVEN MOUNTAINS!
(c) as the center of the world’s merchandise (Re 18:3,11-13);...(MINE...WALL STREET...NEW YORK CITY!)
(d) as the corrupter of the nations (Re 17:2; 18:3; 19:2);...(UNITED NATIONS...NEW YORK CITY...ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY!) JOHN DALBERG..."I cannot accept your canon that we are to judge Pope and King unlike other men with a favourable presumption that they did no wrong. If there is any presumption, it is the other way, against the holders of power, increasing as the power increases. Historic responsibility has to make up for the want of legal responsibility. All power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority: still more when you superadd the tendency or certainty of corruption by full authority. There is no worse heresy than that the office sanctifies the holder of it."[7
(e) as the persecutor of the saints (Re 17:6)...(MINE...PAST...PRESENT...YET FUTURE BELIEVERS?)

There is alot to STUDY...STUDY...STUDY...:)
