BABYLON DEFINED IN THE GREEK DICTIONARY... Babylon: "What does the bible say..."
All the references to Babylon in Revelations are "Literal", as in REV., 14:8,"THAT GREAT CITY, BABYLON IS A CITY...Towers are important!"

Figurative as in,"BABYLON/ SHE MADE ALL NATIONS DRINK...Party and Drink are important!,"

and symbolic as in her title, "BABYLON!"

Literal and figurative language is a distinction in traditional systems for analyzing language. Literal language refers to words that do not deviate from their defined meaning. Figurative language refers to words, and groups of words, that exaggerate or alter the usual meanings of the component words. Figurative language may involve analogy to similar concepts or other contexts, and may involve exaggerations. These alterations result in figures of speech...(MINE...I HOPE THIS HELPS!)

Summary:
1.) Babylon is a city...Towers are important!

2.) Babylon makes ALL Nations Drink...drinking is important!

3.) Babylon is symbolic of Ancient Babylon...RICH IN MILITARY POWER AND WORLD FINANCE!
